Hello People, Welcome to my site! Closet People 'In The Closet'. December 22 & 23, 2006. These days when we hear the idiom 'in the closet' we tend to think of **** people but the idiom is not limited to that. For years and years all the songs I have written were very much 'in the closet'. When I wrote my song 'Closet People', I was talking about how our lives and our relationships are hidden in our commercialized non-humanist society. If you take a picture of a certain orange bicycle that just happens to be jammed into your own (probably just by chance) and your heart races as you post it at Project Overseer Productions, this is good evidence of your pathetic existence as a Closet Person. I would hardly think of my old busking buddies, Carl Beaupre (at Project Overseer Productions and Soundclick) Tom Pirosok (still only at SoundClick) as 'Closet People', but I find that after all this time I have not been much of an expert on their music. Yes, until now most of their music has been 'in the closet' just like mine. For years I would come up to Tom and ask him to play the big hits like 'Mr. Pleasant' by the Kinks. I would go up to Tom Pirosok and Bryan Anthony (playing together) and say "Hey man, play 'Sunny Afternoon' by the Kinks. I rarely play my own songs when I go busking. I always think 'what is the point? - no one is really listening or will remember'. For all these years Tom Pirosok has had beautiful songs like 'April' and 'Dream' in his closet! Well, now because of the internet and people like Chris Bishop of Project Overseer Productions we can know the music our friends have been hiding in the closet. We can get out on the street and say 'Hey Tom dude, play 'April' would yeah?' I know many of you people have had your music 'in the closet' [December 23, 2006.] and it is now making its way out. Welcome out but remember if you spend all you life in front of a computer screen that that is also getting into another closet. Merry Christmas, Trick T. Olly. |
